Saturday, February 17, 2007finally an animation created by a Malay for the Malays... watch this... it's darn hilarious! (pls be patient with the video, after all it's YOUTUBE) while still on the topic of Malays, allow me to present you a thesis on the study of SOME Malays that I know of. Just yesterday, I got pissed with my students. Told 'em to read a book of no less than 50 pages and guess what one replied...ok ah cikgu saya cari buku yang betul-betul 50 mukasurat. I kept my cool and then a homework I gave...told 'em to decorate and most came back undecorated coz they said ... dah buat apa...buat apa nak hias-hias... hmmm so I blew my top... a lonnnnnnnggg lecture ensued just after the comments...I don't want to elaborate on that nagging session coz it really makes my blood go upstairs! These people ah! Self-sufficient! Do the minimum and then can't be bothered. Then... another one...a family of 1..2..3...4..5....alamak uncountables...father and mother not working. DependS ...notice the present tense... on the school and teachers to provide their daily necessities. Why? Father says ... PEPS has good teachers and PEPS always help those in need! Yeah Yeah blah blah blah! You mean my parents sent me to school and get an education and then what? I get a job to provide for YOUR family? It's good enough we help AT TIMES because we want your children to come to school...but that doesnt mean we have to set a portion of our pay to support your family right? We, teachers do have a life too...in case some of you don't notice. Yeah yeah yeah we r supposed to be one the most caring people around but that does not mean we have to follow your every whims and wishes. From the last I heard, even MENDAKI refuses to render any more help. Why? Kena retrenched for so long and yet can't be bothered to find work! *sighs* what kind of mentality is this? For goodness's sake, don't shame our community k! The Malays are rising to prominence these days with many top PSLE, O-Level and A-level scorers. Just go to NUS and NTU and everywhere I beam with pride when I see Malays here and there. Of course, I don't deny the fact that there are some low-income families that really needed help. If it's a genuine case, we truly sympathize with them. We will surely go all out to provide them a better life. But to the others who refuses to get out of their slums coz if they do, they will be void of any more help., WAKE UP LAH DEY! We don't give alms every single day! Not a single human in this world is prepared to do charity every single day... I remember these words from a famous philosopher.. "I bet these scums will be swimming in their circle of filth and never get out of their wretched solace unless they wake up from their bed of thrash!" Before I end this short short and meaningful thesis ... I must reiterate that I am not looking down on Malays... just coz I am not a Malay (even though I contribute to MENDAKI every month and will be refused help if I need one). Most of the Malays in my life...and I mean 95% of them lead a fulfilling and gratifying life and I admire the values instilled in them. What I have just brought up in the above document are just some examples of the thrash of society evident in ANY community. I apologize if any readers feel offended by what I have just bentangkan. Like the Malays always say... SIAPA MAKAN CILI, DIALAH YANG TERASA PEDAS! PS: By the way, the famous philosopher is ME! :)
